1. Project Profile

1.1 Project Background

1.1.1 Project Overview

Completed in 2024, the Changchun Vocational Institute of Technology Indoor Basketball Gymnasium Lighting Renovation Project is a campus sports facility upgrading project. To solve the problems of high energy consumption, poor uniformity and severe glare of traditional metal halide lamps, CPS Lighting undertook the overall lighting renovation. Adopting professional GP-MY-0150 LED sports lamps, the project comprehensively optimizes the indoor basketball court light environment, and all indicators fully meet JGJ153-2016 Grade II amateur competition lighting standards.

1.1.3 Project Demand

The venue needs to eliminate the drawbacks of traditional high-power metal halide lamps, achieve low energy consumption, high uniformity and ultra-low glare. The lighting system is required to reach illuminance above 500lux and uniformity over 0.8, meet national Grade II amateur competition standards, and create a professional, energy-saving and comfortable sports light environment for campus sports activities.

2.1 Pre-renovation Lighting Defects

  • High Energy Consumption: Equipped with traditional 400W metal halide lamps, with huge power consumption and high long-term operating costs

  • Poor Optical Performance: Low illuminance uniformity, uneven field light distribution, obvious dark areas on the court

  • Severe Glare: Uncontrolled glare affects athletes’ jumping, shooting and visual judgment

  • Substandard Grade: Unable to meet formal amateur basketball competition lighting requirements
