1.1 Project Background
Built in the 1950s, Tianjin Hedong Stadium is a historic landmark public sports venue and the only retained standard sports field in Tianjin’s central urban area. After years of operation, the original facilities were severely aging with outdated lighting systems, failing to meet modern sports training, competitions and public fitness demands. As a key people’s livelihood project in Hedong District, the venue launched a comprehensive renovation, including a standard outdoor track and field stadium and a new multi-functional indoor gymnasium for basketball and badminton. CPS Lighting undertook the overall lighting construction, delivering graded professional sports lighting solutions for both outdoor and indoor venues to revitalize the historic stadium.

3. Design Standard: JGJ & FIFA Sports Lighting Classification
The whole project strictly complies with national JGJ 153 Sports Lighting Design and Testing Standard and FIFA international grading specifications. The outdoor 400m standard track and field stadium is designed as Class II Amateur Grade, suitable for public fitness and amateur sports events. The indoor multi-functional gymnasium adopts Class III Professional Match Grade design, meeting high-standard lighting requirements for basketball and badminton professional training and official competitions. The overall design realizes accurate grading lighting, low glare, high uniformity and green energy saving.
4. Customized Full-package Solution by CPS Lighting
Aiming at the dual functional attributes of outdoor stadium and indoor gymnasium, CPS Lighting launched a differentiated customized full-package lighting solution with graded lamp selection and targeted layout design:
Outdoor Stadium Graded Lamp Configuration: Equipped with multi-power professional stadium lights including 72 sets of 420W, 16 sets of 300W, 8 sets of 200W and 4 sets of 150W, installed on stadium stands and canopies, realizing layered and full-coverage lighting for track and field venues.
Indoor Gymnasium Professional Layout: The dual-purpose basketball and badminton hall adopts 48 sets of 200W professional court lights with ceiling mounting layout, matching indoor venue height and sports characteristics to avoid light flicker and glare.
Precision Optical Control: Professional optical distribution design effectively controls light projection, greatly reduces glare value, ensures uniform light distribution, and creates a healthy high-definition sports light environment.
Green Low-Carbon Lighting: High-efficiency LED lamps replace traditional outdated lighting systems, realizing significant energy saving while improving lighting effects, meeting national energy-saving and emission-reduction standards
